Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy has sought an urgent probe into reports that 40 lakh tonnes of coal worth about ₹1,600 crore is missing from Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). He said the company is crucial to India's coal production. This comes as SCCL grapples with more than ₹51,500 crore in outstanding dues from the Telangana government.
