The United Nations on Friday cut its GDP growth forecast for India in 2019-20 to 5%. This comes a day after its World Economic Situation and Prospects (WESP) 2020 report projected the country's economy to expand at 5.7%, compared to 7.6% estimated earlier. The WESP report hadn't taken into account the latest growth numbers released by India's National Statistical Office.
