According to a study in Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, the universe is predicted to end in a big crunch about 20 billion years from now. The prediction comes from data collected from dark-energy observatories in both hemispheres. After expanding for another 11 billion years, the universe will reach its maximum size and then start contracting, the study said.
