University study warns of fungal threat to Meghalaya ginger

Researchers at North-Eastern Hill University have identified two leaf spot fungi infecting ginger, including India’s first report of Neoscirrhia matteucciicola. The study warns that humid conditions could aid spread, with leaf spot diseases capable of causing heavy yield losses in the state’s high-gingerol crop.
