Taiwan's Economy Ministry said China’s tightened rare earth export controls are unlikely to majorly impact its semiconductor industry, as most rare earths used come from Europe, US, and Japan. The remark came after China recently tightened its control over its rare earth exports, adding five new elements and imposing additional scrutiny on chip users.
