A 35-year-old local UP Congress leader, identified as Reeta Yadav, was arrested for allegedly registering a false case of an attempt to murder after "staging firing on herself". Reeta had filed a case alleging that unidentified persons fired at her while she was returning home from a market, police said. Reeta staged the alleged attack to gain sympathy, police added.
