In what is said to be a first-of-its-kind move, Uttar Pradesh government has announced that man-animal conflicts will now be considered a 'State Declared Disaster'. Now onwards, ₹5 lakh will be given to the family if its member is killed by a wild animal. The compensation would be disbursed within 24 hours of the incident after completion of mandatory documentation.
