In Kanpur Dehat, Mamta Devi, 47, conspired with her lover Mayank Katiyar and his brother Rishi to murder her 22-year-old son, Pradeep Sharma, for ₹40 lakh insurance. The accused attacked Pradeep with a hammer inside a car, killing him instantly. They later dumped his body on the Kanpur–Etawah highway to fake a road accident, and all three were arrested.
