UPI growth in terms of monthly active users, merchants, and average daily transaction volume has seen a sharp slowdown, reported Moneycontrol. UPI's average daily transaction volume growth slowed to 24.21% in May 2026, in comparison to 33.11% in May 2025, according to the National Payments Corporation of India data. The average transaction volume in May 2026 stood at 749 million.
