The Reserve Bank of India announced on Friday the interlinking of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) with the TARGET Instant Payment Settlement (TIPS) of the Eurosystem. The move aims to promote cheaper and quicker cross-border payments between India and Europe. RBI said that it has been actively pursuing interlinking India's UPI system with other countries' instant payment systems.
