UPI transactions surged 27% in H1 FY27: NPCI

UPI recorded nearly 145 billion transactions in April–September 2025, up 27% year-on-year, per NPCI data. Transaction value rose 20% to ₹177 lakh crore. From October 15, a 0.4% MDR applies to merchant UPI payments above ₹2,000, exempting 96% of small merchants and all person-to-person transfers.
