The 2024 Lancet Commission on Dementia Prevention, Intervention, and Care found up to 45% of cases may be preventable by tackling 14 modifiable risk factors, including hearing and vision loss, high LDL cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, smoking, obesity, depression, and social isolation.
