The US and Qatar are on the verge of finalising an enhanced defence cooperation pact, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed days after Israel struck Qatar's Doha to target Hamas officials. US President Donald Trump had remarked that it informed Qatar about Israeli airstrikes, a claim a Qatari official denied. Notably, Qatar earlier gifted a luxury jet to Trump.
