US' Mauritian monkey imports to get costly after tariffs: Report

Imports of Mauritius' long-tailed macaques used by US-based pharma companies for trials will get 40% more expensive due to US President Donald Trump's new tariffs, Bloomberg reported. The island country reportedly earns $200 from each monkey export, with monkeys costing around $6,425 on average. Trump introduced a 40% tariff on Mauritius last week.
