US asks Americans to immediately leave Russia amid suspected plague outbreak

US Embassy in Russia has asked Americans to immediately leave Russia amid reports of a suspected pneumonic plague outbreak. The embassy said it's tracking reports of a suspected plague-related death and associated hospital closures and quarantine measures in the Irkutsk region. It asked US citizens to avoid affected facilities, and seek medical care if they develop fever or respiratory symptoms.
