US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen told CNN that US banks could tighten lending further as they're being more cautious following the recent banking crisis. The pullback by banks "could be a substitute for further interest rate hikes that the Fed needs to make", Yellen stated. She added that things have become "calm" after the last month's banking turmoil.
