The US ban on citizens travelling to North Korea came into force on Friday, months after death of an American student who had been imprisoned in the country for 17 months. Violators could face up to 10 years' imprisonment. North Korean tourism officials said, "If the US government says Americans cannot come to this country, we don't care a bit."
