US-based iRobot, the company behind the popular Roomba vacuum cleaner, filed for bankruptcy protection in Delaware bankruptcy court after 35 years of operations. The move comes amid increasing competition from Chinese rivals and US tariffs on imports. Under iRobot's bankruptcy plan, it will be taken over by its Chinese supplier Picea Robotics which will take 100% of the company's equity.
