US can't replace Middle East oil supply, says expert

Amid raging war, Brian Kessens, portfolio manager at Tortoise Capital, says the US "cannot simply 'flip a switch' to replace large, sudden Middle Eastern outages." While short-term gains benefit Gulf Coast refiners and LNG exporters, meaningful additional supply typically takes months or years. Energy profits may rise, but long-term capacity growth is limited.
