Ex-US President George HW Bush invaded Panama and captured dictator Manuel Noriega in 1990, using a similar approach as President Donald Trump did for capturing Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. Noriega hid inside the Vatican embassy in Panama City for 11 days. US military blared loud rock music at the embassy for three days before Noriega surrendered on January 3, 1990.
