US' White House approved a classified $9 billion funding request for intelligence agencies to acquire high-end AI chips, a report by The New York Times said. It added that agencies underestimated growth of AI which is now 'deeply integrated into modern espionage and military analysis'. The AI models run by the chips require specialised cooling systems and massive electricity supply.
