US conducts underground test to boost nuclear detection

The United States has conducted an underground, non-nuclear chemical high-explosive experiment at the Nevada National Security Site as part of efforts to strengthen its ability to detect low-yield nuclear explosions. The experiment was carried out by the US National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) at the Nevada site.
