US considers banning Americans from using China's DeepSeek: Report

US President Donald Trump's administration is considering banning Americans from using Chinese AI startup DeepSeek's services, the NYT reported. Officials are also reportedly weighing penalties that would block DeepSeek from buying US technology. A committee is further examining whether and how NVIDIA's chips "ended up powering DeepSeek's AI models despite US export restrictions".
