America's customs duties collection hit an all-time high of $16.5 billion (₹1,40,535 crore) in May as importers made monthly payments for goods received in April. This reflects full impact of US President Donald Trump's tariffs for the first time. It consists mostly of a 10% baseline tariff for most countries, 25% duty on steel and aluminium, and 25% on autos.
