US federal debt has reached a record ₹37,94 lakh crore, increasing by 308 lakh crore over the past year. The deficit is driven by an aging population, rising healthcare costs, higher interest rates and insufficient tax revenue. The US now spends more than ₹26,962 crore a day on interest, which is expected to double within a decade.
