US President Donald Trump announced that Saudi Arabia has been designated as a major non-NATO ally of the US, amid Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's visit. "We're taking our military cooperation to even greater heights," said Trump during the announcement. Only 19 other countries hold the designation, which involves expanded defence, intelligence, and security collaboration with the US.
