US authorities have arrested former Mexican defence minister and Army chief, General Salvador Cienfuegos, on drug trafficking and money laundering charges in Los Angeles. He is the second former minister to be detained in the US. Last year, former security minister Genaro Garcia Luna was arrested over allegations that he took bribes from Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán's drug cartel.
