An American family contracted brain worms after consuming undercooked bear meat at a gathering, the CDC reported. A 29-year-old man experienced severe symptoms and was diagnosed with trichinellosis, a rare roundworm infection. Five others, including a 12-year-old girl, were also infected. The CDC advises cooking meat to at least 165°F to prevent such infections.
