US Federal Reserve hikes interest rates by 0.25% to highest level in 16 years
The US Federal Reserve System on Wednesday raised its benchmark interest rate by 0.25%. The move will raise its key rate to a range of 4.75% to 5%, the highest level since 2007. In its projections, the Federal Reserve signalled that there will be just one more rate increase coming this year.
