US FTC, 20 states sue Dollar General over checkout overcharges

The US Federal Trade Commission and 20 states have sued Dollar General, alleging the discount chain charged shoppers more at the register than its shelf prices. The complaint says the company logged 29,265 complaints about unhonoured prices between 2023 and 2026. Dollar General said its goal is 100% price accuracy and it will defend the lawsuit vigorously.
