US ICE to spend $16.7 million to buy 6,000 electric shock gloves for officers
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) granted a $16.7-million contract to buy 6,000 pairs of electric shock gloves for field officers, saying officers would use them to control detainees who resist. ICE, the face of US President Trump’s immigration crackdown, has faced criticism over use of force. Over 50 people have reportedly died in ICE custody since Trump took office.
