US journalist Scott Mendelson has been criticised after he called Shah Rukh Khan "India's Tom Cruise". Reacting to his article, social media users said, "He isn't India's Tom Cruise. He is Shah Rukh Khan. The one and only king," and "No one is even closer to him. Do not ever compare him with any other person."
