The US has lifted restrictions on exports to China for chip design software developers. The US Commerce Department informed Synopsys, Cadence Design Systems and Siemens that requirements to seek government licenses for business in China are no longer in place. The curbs on software developers were countermeasures imposed by US in response to China's export suspension of rare earths.
