US lifts mandate on four childhood vaccines

The US has removed mandatory requirements for four childhood vaccines: flu, rotavirus, meningococcal and hepatitis A. Parents must now decide with doctors under shared decision-making. Experts warn this could lead to a rise in preventable illnesses. Other vaccines such as MMR, chickenpox and HPV remain on schedule, with HPV doses reduced from two to one.
