US man dies after lightning strike while trekking on Italy's Mount Etna

A 29-year-old US citizen died after being struck by lightning while trekking on Italy’s Mount Etna. The man suffered cardiac arrest and died as a helicopter team tried to resuscitate him. Etna is Europe’s tallest active volcano. Italian agencies warned that a combination of volcanic activity and sudden weather changes higher up the mountain can make conditions hazardous.
