A US national, Matthew Aaron VanDyk, lodged in Tihar Jail, has asked a Delhi court for soya milk, olive oil, pasta, shrimp and a stove, saying the “oily” and “greasy” food served in jail has forced him to go hungry. VanDyk claimed he lost nearly 14 kg due to poor nutrition. He was arrested with six Ukrainians on terrorism-related charges.
