The US Navy's Lieutenant Commander Edward Lin, assigned to a group that oversaw intelligence collection, has reportedly been accused of passing on state secrets, possibly to China and Taiwan. He has been in pre-trial confinement for the last eight months and is also accused of involvement in prostitution. The Taiwan-born officer was reportedly made a naturalised US citizen in 2008.
