Mark Zandi, Chief Economist of American ratings agency Moody's, said US is "on the edge of recession". Zandi, amongst first economists to predict 2008 financial crisis, said, "States making up nearly a third of US GDP are either in or at high risk of recession." Recession will mean higher costs and job disruption across industries for US consumers, he added.
