US regulator bans foreign routers' imports over security concerns

The US Federal Communications Commission has banned the import of new foreign-made consumer routers amid a crackdown on Chinese-made electronic gear over ‌security concerns. China controls about 60% of the US market for home routers, which enable internet connection on smart devices. The agency ​said that imported routers pose a cybersecurity threat used to disrupt critical infrastructure.
