US reports first deaths linked to Cyclospora outbreak
US reported its first deaths linked to a Cyclospora outbreak after two infected individuals with serious underlying health conditions succumbed to the illness. Cyclosporiasis is an intestinal disease that spreads when people consume food or water contaminated with feces. It causes watery diarrhoea. Officials linked the current outbreak to shredded iceberg lettuce used by Taco Bell.
