US ordered its companies offering software used to design semiconductors to stop selling to China without getting an export licence first, Reuters reported. The Commerce Department will reportedly review each request for a licence to ship to China on a case-by-case basis. The department is reviewing exports of strategic significance to China and in some cases, suspended existing export licences.
