US-Rwanda seal $228 mn health deal under new aid model

The US and Rwanda have signed a $228 million, five-year health cooperation pact, combining $158 million in US funding with $70 million from Rwanda. The deal targets HIV, malaria, disease surveillance, and outbreak readiness, while expanding Rwanda’s drone-delivery and digital health systems. Rwanda becomes the second nation, after Kenya, to adopt the new US “America First” global health aid model.
