US has imposed sanctions on UN special rapporteur Francesca Albanese, who has been critical of US ally Israel's war in Gaza. Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused her of waging a "campaign of political and economic warfare against the United States and Israel". The sanctions would prevent Albanese from travelling to US and would block her assets in the country.
