US scientists propose new organ 'Interstitium' in human body

American researchers have proposed a previously unrecognised, fluid-filled space inside and between tissues as a new organ called 'interstitium'. Earlier understood as densely packed barrier-like collagen walls, researchers described the fluid organ as "shock absorbers" for tissues. The new anatomic structures may be important in cancer study and functioning of tissues and organs, they said.
