US Senate voted to advance the Russia sanctions bill, which if passed into law, could allow President Trump to impose tariffs of up to 100% on countries, including India, over continued purchases of Russian oil and gas. The bill now needs final Senate approval before moving to House of Representatives. India is the second-largest buyer of Russian crude after China.
