US announced it would send $150 million in emergency assistance to Venezuela after it was hit by two earthquakes killing 589 people and injuring 3,000 others. US added it would deploy two warships, transport aircraft and helicopters to support rescue operations. The US Embassy in Venezuela said firefighters, doctors, engineers and dogs trained for detection in rubble arrived on Friday.
