US-based aviation startup Kitty Hawk, which is backed by Google Co-founder Larry Page, has abandoned the development of its "Flyer" electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. It is firing most of Flyer's 70-person team, TechCrunch said. Within five years of launching the program, Kitty Hawk has built 111 flying cars and conducted over 25,000 successful crewed and uncrewed flights.
