US students make 4-wheel rover, drone system for mine rescues

A Carnegie Mellon and Oregon State University team has developed a four-wheeled rover and drone system for rescue missions in terrains including mines. The rover will use 3D and LIDAR to navigate the environment in search of trapped humans amid rubble. If the rover is unable to move due to obstacles like debris, the drone is designed to continue search.
