US Supreme Court has banned the use of race and ethnicity in university admissions. This effectively prohibits affirmative action policies used to raise the number of Black, Hispanic and other underrepresented minority students on campuses. The court ruled that affirmative action admissions programs that consider an applicant's race violate US Constitution's promise of equal protection under law.
