American swimmer Leanne Smith secured a Paralympic gold in the 100m Freestyle S3 at the Paris Games, two years after suffering a partially collapsed lung. The 36-year-old overcame severe health challenges, including relearning basic functions, to achieve a record time of 1:28.81.
